National Library for the Study of George Washington

Location: Mount Vernon, VA

Our Role: Owner’s Representative for the George Washington Presidential Library on the grounds of Mount Vernon Estate. This 35,000sf stone, stucco, and glass building houses hundreds of books, maps and letters from Washington’s personal collection, plus hundreds of thousands of other original volumes from the Revolutionary period. The Library includes a two-story reading room featuring busts of seven Founders, a conference center with meeting space for 100, closed stacks with operable shelving and office space for Library staff. The project also includes an 8-unit Scholar’s Residence where visiting scholars stay while conducting research at Mount Vernon.
